NEW YORK-El humorista y actor criollo Luisito Martí informó que será operado el martes 20 de mayo de cáncer en el estómago en los Estados Unidos.
A continuación el comunicado enviado a los medios de comunicación por Martí desde Nueva York:
"A raíz de sentir algunas molestias en mi estomago, fui evaluado por mi amigo y gastroenterólogo, el doctor Eduardo Villeta, producto de esta evaluación se pudo determinar la presencia de un tumor en mi estómago (cáncer de estomago), el cual, según la apreciación del doctor Villeta, podía ser tratado y extirpado normalmente, siempre que éste no hubiese causado otros daños.
"Compartí con mi cardiólogo, el doctor César Meléndez, la situación por la que atravesaba y tomamos la decisión de ser tratado en la ciudad de Nueva York, en el Sloan Kettering Hospital Center, ya con la situación que había sido diagnosticada por el doctor Villeta".
"Estando en Nueva York, fui referido al doctor Brennan, por un médico amigo cercano, el doctor Braulio Carrero. El doctor Brennan, hizo la evaluación del caso, de manera exhaustiva y concluyó que había sido diagnosticado correctamente, a la vez nos indicó que a primera vista no tenía daños colaterales y que se podría proceder a la extirpación sin mayores complicaciones".
"Tomando en consideración, la posición que ocupo como Asesor Artístico del Poder Ejecutivo, informé debidamente a la Presidencia de la República sobre mi estado de salud, y mi ausencia del país, recibí la inmediata respuesta y respaldo en nombre del Presidente doctor Leonel Fernández".
